Glendale’s Commitment to Honouring the Armed Forces Covenant

In 2019, Glendale Managed Services Ltd, including its divisions Glendale Grounds Management Ltd and Glendale Countryside Ltd, proudly signed the Armed Forces Covenant. This declaration underscores the recognition and respect the company holds for the immense contributions of Serving Personnel, Reservists, Veterans, and military families to both the business and the country.

The Essence of the Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant represents a profound promise between the United Kingdom, its government, and those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families. It acknowledges the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women in defence of the realm, sometimes facing extreme dangers and personal losses. This covenant is a testament to the moral duty of society towards these brave individuals and their families, ensuring they receive fair treatment, respect, and support.

Glendale’s Vision in Supporting the Covenant

Glendale’s endorsement of the Covenant embodies a series of principles and actions designed to support the Armed Forces community effectively. These principles are centred around two core tenets:

  1. No member of the Armed Forces community should face disadvantage in public and commercial services compared to other citizens.
  2. Special consideration is appropriate for those who have sacrificed the most, like the injured and bereaved.

Glendale’s commitment to these principles is not just symbolic but action-oriented. The company aims to:

  • Foster an armed forces-friendly environment.
  • Support the employment of veterans and Service Leavers, in collaboration with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), providing tailored employment pathways.
  • Promote the employment of Service spouses and partners.
  • Offer flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners around their partner’s deployment.
  • Support employees who are Reserve forces members, accommodating their training and deployment needs.

At Glendale Managed Services Ltd, our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant is more than a policy; it’s a reflection of our core values and a personal mission that we are passionate about.

Valuing the Skills and Experience of Veterans

We recognise that veterans and serving personnel are repositories of unique skills and experiences. Their discipline, leadership, and resilience are qualities that can immensely benefit any organisation. By integrating these individuals into our workforce, we not only enrich our team but also gain new perspectives that are crucial for our growth and innovation.

Building a Supportive and Inclusive Community

Our commitment goes beyond offering employment opportunities. It’s about fostering an environment that respects and supports the transition of military personnel and their families into civilian life. We understand the challenges they face and strive to provide a welcoming and understanding community that values their service and sacrifice.

Enhancing Our Corporate Identity

We believe that supporting the Armed Forces Covenant is not just the right thing to do; it also positively impacts our brand. This commitment showcases our dedication to social responsibility and has helped us build stronger connections with our customers and the wider community, who value businesses that make a real difference.

Acknowledging a Moral Duty

At Glendale, we feel a profound sense of moral obligation towards those who have served our country. They have dedicated their lives to our safety and freedom, and it is only fitting that we show our gratitude by supporting them in tangible ways.
