Glendale celebrates 45 Green Flag wins

Green flags are continuing to fly in Glendale-maintained open spaces after the national green services company retained 45 Green Flags for its clients across the country.

To win the prestigious award, the parks and green spaces were assessed against eight strict criteria, including horticultural standards, cleanliness, sustainability and community involvement.
 
Glendale retained its highest number of flags – 16 in total including a community award – in Lewisham, in South East London.
 
It retained seven in North Somerset, four in Birmingham, eight in Lee Valley, two in Liverpool and three on behalf of Waverley Borough Council.
 
Additional flags were won in Surrey Heath, South Kesteven and Newcastle under Lyme.
 
The Green Flag Awards, run by Keep Britain Tidy, are regarded as a benchmark of a quality park or green space which is welcoming, clean, well-maintained, safe and secure.
 
Mike Brunskill, sales and marketing director for Glendale, comments: “It’s great to see that the community open spaces we work in have been recognised as some of the best in the UK for another year running. This is a testament to our commitment to creating and sustaining beautiful open spaces which can be enjoyed by all, and the huge amount of work which goes into keeping these areas in such a magnificent condition.
